Mr Teo Say Hong was appointed Managing Director of EM Engineering on 25 February 2026, bringing with him extensive leadership experience within the built environment sector. With a strong background in business management, operations, strategy and corporate leadership, he has consistently driven organisational growth and transformation throughout his career.

As Managing Director, Say Hong leads EM Engineering’s transformation agenda, strengthening its core businesses while driving expansion into new growth areas. He is responsible for shaping the company’s strategic direction, enhancing organisational capabilities and supporting long-term business sustainability and value creation. In addition, he oversees Group-wide strategic transformation programmes and special projects that deliver enhanced value to stakeholders.

Say Hong began his career with the Housing & Development Board (HDB) as a Lift Engineer and was involved in implementing the Lift Upgrading Programme (LUP), which improved accessibility for residents by providing lift access to previously unserved floors. He was subsequently seconded to an HDB subsidiary specialising in digital solutions for the built environment sector, where he contributed to initiatives that delivered greater value to industry stakeholders.

Prior to joining EM Engineering, Say Hong spent 21 years with the Surbana Jurong Group, where he held various senior leadership appointments including Group Chief Strategy Officer, Group Chief Officer (Integration & Mergers and Acquisitions), Managing Director of the Building Consultancy Services Group, and General Manager (Qatar). He was a key member of the pioneering team that expanded the Group’s expertise and strengthened its position across the built environment value chain.

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Say Hong serves as a Board Member of the NUS Co-operative Society Ltd and chairs its Strategy & Growth Committee. He attained the Senior Accredited Director accreditation from the Singapore Institute of Directors in 2024 and was awarded the Singapore COVID-19 Resilience Medal in 2023.

Say Hong holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with Honours from the National University of Singapore under an HDB scholarship.

Outside of work, Say Hong values moments of reflection and recharging after a fulfilling day of engaging with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
